Family Member of Paul Davis Lexington Owner on his way to Cannes Film Festival!
David Howard, nephew of our owner Danny Howard and cousin of myself and Senior Mitigation Technician Josh Howard, may very well be on his way to the Cannes Film Festival. David and his cohort at Jacksonville University have crafted a 5 minute short film that could catapult them to recognition at the internationally acclaimed festival. Obviously, our family is excited to see him take such an impressive step on his way to becoming a director. This news may not fall under our typical subject matter, but we’re very excited for him and wanted to share!
High Plains Broadcasting LLC has requested that the material from the website not be redistributed, but you can read the short news piece on Action News Jacksonville’s website here.
The two film students need $6,300 to make it there. We certainly don’t expect anyone to donate, but we also don’t want to pass up an opportunity to help out a member of our family who is following his dream so successfully. If you happen to be a fan of film or the Cannes festival, a few dollars could mean two talented students get a chance to shine on the international stage. You can see the 5 minute film and contribute to their fund here.
IndieGoGo is based on the “Kickstarter” model, so contributors get something in return for their investment. For example, $5 gets your name in the film’s credits! Thanks, everyone, for taking the time to humor us in our excitement for David.
